As in all of Inez Froehlich's works, the aim of "Ikaria" is to create a tension between color and texture, sight and feeling, emergence and decay. The inspiration for this is natural surfaces and structures, but also walls, floors, fences, roads, paths, forgotten objects, and lost places that show traces of time and remind us of the beauty of the moment in its passages. The artist makes a map of the memory in her paintings. For the artist who tries different styles, “Ikaria” is her most assertive work on creating texture with color. The appeal of “Ikaria” as an island is well emphasized by the details of the turquoise color in the artist's way. You can never predict how you will get out of the way you entered in the works that she knits in layers. Impression and expression form the general framework in the artist's work. Other details are shaped by the artist's unique technique and free perspective.
